# Porcelain - I need help, please

I broke 2 beautiful cookies plates (**kakfat** **i våningar -** plate picture) and now I have only the metal bases.

I'd like to know how to make a hole in a porcelain plate that I can remake my plates using the bases and other plates.

Could anybody help me, please?

i´m no pro at this..but can´t you try to drill the same way one drill in bathroom or kitchen tiles?

You need a diamond drill and also need to cool the plate down with water while you drill. And depending on if the plates are porcelain, earthenware or stoneware, it´ll be more or less hard to drill. Too hot or too forced it´ll probably crack.

The easiest and hopefully also nicest result you would get by asking a potter to throw new plates for you, with holes and all. I thiiiiiink there should be some potters around here somewhere.....\*looks around\* ![Flört](../tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-wink.gif)
