Hi, Zzzaga, Ulla and Abbis
My intention was only to show a bit of the culture in Amazonia region and the pictures in this site were good.
The styles of those ceramics are originaries from the diferent tribles of indians in Amazonia region (North of Brasil) for thousands of years.
People still keeps the tradition of make them by hand, one by one, teaching from parents to their children, you can even see in their look (face, eyes, hair) that they have indian blood, probably I have it too.
Most of Amazonia culture is dominated by the indians culture (foods, arts, language, dances and musics).
Zzaga, as you can see, the styles are much, much older than the 80's, they are roots, History, that makes hard to please modern and sophisticated tastes.

The art (like many other things) develops, like using other colors, and that doesn't mean it lost its roots.
Besides, the black and red already were used, yes, thousands of years ago in Amazonia by the indians (or civilizations).
You can check here if you want. It's in portuguese but you can find on-line translaters.

'…of another side, to the migration of groups of the linguistic family Tupi-Guarani, that in accordance with Lathrap would be represented in this expansion for the ceramics distribution policroms (with paintings in black color, red or black color and white red on engobo) associates to the TPA* (Policrom tradition of Amazonia*).'
'1) TB/IM D was predominant the ceramic tradition in the central Amazônia until about 900.C.;'
'2) TPA (subtradition 'Guarita') appears in the Açutuba complex only after 900 D.C.;'
The mayas were in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and other places, but they never arrived in brazilian Amazonia. If you have some update about this, please, it would be good to update my knowledge since I'm not PHD in this subject, maybe you are and it's wonderful that you know so much about other cultures.
Ulla
You can see original pieces found in Amazonia in museums in Brasil in the picture if you can't read all that in the sites and just see the colors, for exemple.
*I repeat, my intention was only to show a bit of our culture, if it's disturbing someone in some way, I can delete this topic, it's ok to me …

It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.

Zzaga
South America is a Continent with many diferent countries/cultures, even only Brasil has many diferent cultures and aspects depending on the region. Maybe you have seen something from other places there.
The paints in the ceramics are tipical landscapes and birds (arara, tucano, papagaio, guarás and others) in Amazonia, that became tipical in Amazonia region also long, long, long time ago before the 80's.
Of course, it always developes, that is natural with new resources like new paints/colors in this case for new ideas in the same style.
Is the correct translation: 'I don't understand at all what you mean or what is your goal with the messeges'??
If it's so, I must tell you that I don't understand what is your goal contesting about a subject which you just guess and don't have any interest to read about…
I just said in the first post that I just would like to show our tipical ceramics in North of Brasil… nothing else… now I want everybody to have the corret informations about this aspect of my culture…
Also I'm not trying to sell anything, I have no idea, no clue who is the owner of this site selling the ceramics. Any way, I think that wouldn't affect the marketof swedish ceramics if I was trying to sell.
But, look, as I said before, if that is disturbing you so much, yet I don't understand your reasons for that, I have no problem to delete this topic and send privately to Ulla more if she wants. You just say and I'll do it.
Ulla
Diferent opinions is interesting and personal taste mustn't be discussed, we all have diferent tastes, thanks God for that. But wrong information must be corrected.

"The styles of those ceramics are originaries from the diferent tribles of indians in Amazonia region (North of Brasil) for thousands of years."
//Jessica

History about PARACURI ceramics(ceramics with paints from a village in north of Brazil as I was talking about NORTH of Brasil) which Zzaga wants me to prove about:
http://artesanatobrasil0001.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_artesanatobrasil0001_archive.html
CERAMICS PARACURI

'…In the center of the Icoaraci village there is the quarter of the Paracuri, where they concentrate about 90% of the community of ceramists. They are innumerable workshops and potteries, lined up one to the side of the other, for all the extension of the quarter.
In the village and the outskirts great amount and variety of clay in differentiated colors and textures, what probably, it explains the millenarian tradition of local ceramics. A tradition that, by the way, if it reports, in some aspects, to the aboriginal culture, that, in the origin, it's transmitted of mother for son and, contemporarily, it is passed of father for son…'

*I'm brazialian and from North of Brasil, for coincidence, exactly from a city very close to Icoaraci village where the Piracuri ceramics are made.
Where do you come from, Zzzaga???

Friends
It's ok that I have to prove. I can prove that what I say it's right and true. No problem.
I'm glad to know and to show my roots.

Perfect understanding.
But now that it's proved and understood, let's go ahead.
Soon I'll post about our fruits in Amazonia region which are many, maybe very stranger to you, but be sure also very tasty.
Greetings, friends!!!
